Why Group Personal Excess?

Today more than ever it is important for people to carry higher limits of personal liability coverage. In the event of a serious loss, your auto, homeowners and watercraft policies may not provide enough protection. A personal excess or “umbrella policy” will provide an additional layer of liability protection in excess of (meaning over and above) your primary homeowners, auto and watercraft policies.

A "covered person" includes the person who enrolls as a part of the group policy (as an OMSNIC member policyholder) and that person's spouse or domestic partner, any relative or any other person under 25 who is in the insured's or the relative's care. All must be residents of the same household.

Excess Liability Coverage is an additional layer of liability protection that extends over your personal home, auto, and watercraft policies. In the event a claim exceeds the required underlying limits on your primary home, auto, or watercraft policy, this policy will provide additional coverage.

UM/UIM/UL Excess Uninsured/Underinsured Motorist and Uninsured Liability provides coverage for damages to you or a covered person sustain, for which the at fault party has little or no insurance.
